Vintage Danish sterling silver bangle made by Niels Erik From. He opened his first workshop in 1931 aged 23. His earlier work is very nature and floral inspired. By the beginning in the 1950's the work produced by From which this bracket is marked (which were often the designs of other designers) had a very different look. No longer does the jewellery feature romantic, detailed designs from nature. The later pieces have modernist, clean lines with geometric and abstract shapes. This is such a classic piece that could be worn every day.
As it has these wonderful ring details at the side it hinges perfectly on top of each other. I thought I’d see what it looked like styled a different way with ribbon. (Shown in the last 4 photos) I just love that you can adapt the style if you fancy it, you just need someone who can tie a good bow!
There is surface wear commensurate with age. This bangle is over 70 years old!
