A really fun piece with plenty of musical history behind it. At first glance this appears to be a spectacular sterling silver sun pendant, but a closer look at the top reveals the name Klaatu. This highly regarded Canadian progressive rock and pop trio was formed in Toronto in 1973 and became known for their Beatles-inspired sound. In 1977 they released Hope, an album recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, and this pendant was produced featuring the same image used on the front cover of the album.

Beautifully made, the reverse is marked with a 1977 copyright, Klaatu and Sterling. The pendant has a lovely deep bail, making it suitable not only for a sterling silver chain but also for threading onto fine beads.

Stamped Sterling.

Copyright Klastoons 1977.

Height 3.9 cm.

Width 3.9 cm.

Depth 1 mm.

Internal bail diameter 0.4 cm.

Weight 9.6 grams.

A wonderful and unusual piece of music memorabilia, combining striking design with a fascinating connection to one of Canada's most intriguing bands.
